Additional practical information:

 

 

• Please bring the sun with you!
• It seems to be impossible to put timings at the different stops.  (Therefore I propose to attend from the beginning)  You can call my anytime to ask me where we are at that particular time.  It would be easy to bring a print-out of our routing. 
• For your info: the tour we are going to follow (day 1) from the Grand Place to the MAS museum, takes, without stops, about 40 minutes.  The distance from the MAS museum to the Damplein is a 25 minutes walk.  De 2nd day we shall take the subway twice.
• Where to park your car:
• Day 1:  As the starting point (Grand Place) and the end of the tour (Damplein) are laying about 35 minutes by foot from each other, I would advise you to park your car somewhere in the middle of the tour.  When we go from the MAS museum in the direction of “Park Spoor Noord”at the end, some of you might take their car and can transport the others at the end to the starting point, where they left their cars. 
• Day 2: I would like to propose to park your car in the area of the “Scheldekaaien”, in between the starting and the finishing point.  (Please be aware that on Sunday there is an art event on the river Schelde, so not sure how many parking slots will be available. )  No parking is available on the “Vlaamse kaai” or the “Waalse Kaai” due to the kermis “Sinksefoor”.
• We do not foresee food nor drinks, as we will pass enough pubs/bistro’s, where we can take a (lunch) break.  If you plan to stay for dinner, reservations might be useful. (I recommend this , if you come in group)
• Day 1, Saturday June 1: Damplein.

•  Day 2, Sunday June 2nd: Scheldekaaien
• We pass by the kermis “Sinksefoor”:  French fries, smoutebollen, lackmans, …
• We end our tour on the “Scheldekaaien”: Les Guinguettes. (https://www.facebook.com/#!/events/345834685535811/)  Here you can take a menu for € 10, but you have to make a reservation beforehand.  (03/22 11 333)

• The purpose of‘I Charleston Antwerpen’:

o   To discover a city in a fun way, by dancing Charleston on different places. 

o   To meet other fans of Charleston and Lindy Hop in a different way. 

o   To enjoy the weekend. 

o   To make a funny and very original movie!!!

§  Wim Symoens will be joining us for 2 days to film, already a big THANK YOU!!  If you want to film yourself (with your camera, smart phone, …) you are free to do so.  We might use your material as well.  Different angles might give funny effects J

§  Sometimes we will need to look for the most beautiful spot to film or the most spectacular moves (solo, couple, group), so not everybody will be able to danse the whole time..  “Patience is a virtue” J

o   If we have the possibility, we will try to Urban Hop.
